What is Domain Redemption Period?

A Domain Redemption Period is a time period in a schedule for expired domains imposed by the domain registry (such as Webnic). Every expired domain has at most 2 weeks to be renewed by the end-customer. If the end-customer does not renew their domain during this time, the domain goes into a new period called the "Domain Redemption Period". This period lasts 30 days and it means that nobody can renew the domain, except y our registry. This was designed to help protect domain owners from having squatters steal their domain, but it also hurts those domain owners who let their domain expire.
